Daniel Lano

I have extensive experience in all aspects of domestic and international trademark selection, prosecution, and enforcement, in addition to copyright registration and technology transactions. I have worked with a wide variety of industries to protect their intellectual property rights, and specifically tailored each strategy to the particular project and business objectives. I have performed innumerable trademark clearance searches for major product and service rollouts throughout the world, and I have handled every aspect of trademark prosecution from filing to registration. In addition, I have successfully enforced and maintained oppositions against trademarks in a variety of jurisdictions worldwide, including the US, Canada, China, European Union, United Kingdom, and elsewhere. In consulting with emerging technology companies, I have assisted emerging technology companies with negotiating the finer points of technology agreements involving AI, large language models, and other developing technologies.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and I was awarded his J.D. from DePaul College of Law.

As a former professional clarinetist, I bring this creativity to bear in assisting clients with complex legal problems. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons, building model railroads, running, playing tennis, and watching sports, with a particular fondness for teams from Baltimore, Maryland.
